Initially, on December 9, the police checked a 64-year-old Albanian who was carrying tools, cables, and equipment for a cultivation facility in his backpack. During a house search ordered by the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office on the property in Stammersdorf, two other suspects, a 34-year-old Romanian and an Albanian of the same age, were encountered.

In four rooms of the apartment, the professionally set-up cultivation with fans, lamps, and exhaust pipes was found. All three men had cash in the four-digit range with them.
