JJ secures the ESC final ticket for Austria: All winners in the 2nd Semi-Final 2025

Austria makes it to the Song Contest Final 2025: JJ was able to convince the audience with his dramatic performance in the 2nd semi-final in Basel and will compete for victory on Saturday - for which the chances are even relatively good.

The warm-up round has been successfully completed: Austria's ESC candidate JJ made it to the final round of the world's largest music competition on Thursday evening in the 2nd semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. The 24-year-old, with his counter-ballad "Wasted Love," is among the ten candidates out of the 16-member field who secured a ticket for the ESC final on Saturday. This confirms JJ's co-favorite status of the past weeks.

After all, the young singer and thus Austria have been in 2nd place according to the betting offices for a long time - in the final, mind you. On Saturday, it will get serious for JJ in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel when he has to compete against 25 other countries, aiming for another red-white-red Song Contest triumph after Conchita's ESC victory in 2014.
