Die Sieger werden bei einer Gala am 18. September in Los Angeles ausgezeichnet, moderiert von US-Comedian Jimmy Kimmel. Über die Preise entscheiden die rund 19.000 Mitglieder der Academy for Television Arts & Sciences. Die Emmys, die neben Serien auch kürzer laufende Reihen, Fernsehfilme und Shows prämieren, werden in diesem Jahr zum 68. Mal verliehen. Der Bezahlsender Sky überträgt die 68. Emmy Awards in der Nacht auf 18. September live. Er lädt Serienfans im Rahmen einer “Sky Night” samt Rahmenprogramm ins Stadtkino im Künstlerhaus in Wien.
