Nine Inch Nails veröffentlichen 36 neue Lieder

Die bisher unerwartete Album wurde im letzten Herbst während einer zehn Wochen langen Session- Periode mit Atticus Ross und Alan Moulder aufgenommen und jetzt ohne Vorankündigungen veröffentlicht. Auf der Nine Inch Nails-Homebage nur trocken verkündet: “The new Nine Inch Nails record is available RIGHT NOW.”

“New record” ist wohl ein bisschen untertrieben. – GHOSTS ist ein Vierfach-Instrumental- Album, das mit sofortiger Wirkung als Download zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Das Interessanteste an dem Album ist allerdings das Preismodell. So ist der neue Longplayer in verschiedenen Formaten erhältlich. Vom Neun-Song-Sampler bis zum 300 Dollar teuren „ultra-deluxe limited“-Package kann sich der Fan zwischen insgesamt vier Editionen entscheiden.

Trent Reznor himself hat folgendes zum Blitzrelease zu sagen: “I’ve been considering and wanting to make this kind of record for years, but by its very nature it wouldn’t have made sense until this point. This collection of music is the result of working from a very visual perspective – dressing imagined locations and scenarios with sound and texture; a soundtrack for daydreams. I’m very pleased with the result and the ability to present it directly to you without interference. I hope you enjoy the first four volumes of Ghosts.”

Natürlich kann man sich ausgewählte Tracks aus GHOSTS auch ganz unverbindlich in voller Länge im Stream anhören.
